Dear Corpus Experts,
I am a student at Warsaw University and I want to do a
corpus-based analysis of the absolute participle construction. I
think that a syntactically annotated corpus would be best suited
for my needs. Is there ready-made software available to process
the Suzanne corpus? Is the Suzanne large enough to return a
reasonable number of such constructions? What other
syntactically-marked corpora exist which I could use?
Otherwise, is it better(simpler?) to approximate the structure of
NP+Participle with POS tags, and search for them in, e.g., the
BNC?
Thank you for help,
