<s id="NEST_Aulno.s1">En junikveld i 1875 kom dikteren Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson med hele sin familie til Aulestad.</s> <s id="NEST_Aul_071en.s1">One evening in the June of 1875, the poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson arrived at Aulestad with his entire family.</s>

<s id="NEST_Aulno.s2">Året før hadde Bjørnson, som da oppholdt seg i Italia, fått vite av vennene sine på folkehøyskolen Vonheim, like ved Aulestad, at gården var til salgs.</s> <s id="NEST_Aul_071en.s2">Bjørnson had the year before, while residing in Italy, been informed by his friends at the folk high school Vonheim, close to Aulestad, that the farm was up for sale.</s>

<s id="NEST_Aulno.s3">Etter nøye overveielse med argumenter for og imot og en intens lyst til å erverve Aulestad, kjøpte Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson gården for 16.000 Spd.</s> <s id="NEST_Aul_071en.s3">After careful consideration of the pros and cons, and an intense urge to acquire Aulestad, Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson bought the farm for 16 000 Spd.</s>

<s id="NEST_Aulno.s4">Aulestad som etter navnet å dømme må skrive seg fra vikingtiden, er en god gård på ialt omkring 2.000 mål.</s> <s id="NEST_Aulno.s5">Av dette var 150 mål dyrket i 1874, resten var utmark og ypperlig skog.</s> <s id="NEST_Aul_071en.s4">Aulestad, which name implies a heritage from the Viking Age, is a farm of about 200 hectares Of this, 15 hectares was worked and ploughed by 1874, the rest was wilderness and excellent forest.</s>
