The Institute for English and American Studies at the Humboldt University
in Berlin invites applications for two research positions (BAT-O IIa/part
time) in a two-year project (sponsored by DFG) 'Fokussierte Satzanfänge in
Übersetzungen zwischen Deutsch und Englisch', beginning as soon as possible
(preferably May/June 2000). Candidates should have a native or native-like
command of German and English, a background in theoretical and/or applied
linguistics (centering on questions of information structure) and an
interest in problems of translation.
